LIGHTHOUSES

Québec is home to over 40 lighthouses, most of which stand on the coasts of Québec maritime. Proud witnesses to our history, many of these sentinels of the sea or their outbuildings have been given new life as museums, inns or cottages.
 
 

HISTORY

Québec maritime has a rich history. The Aboriginal peoples as well as the French, English, Jersey Islanders, Acadians and many others contributed to building our society. They have left us a rich and colourful heritage that we are happy to share with you through our network of tourist sites and activities.
 
   

ABORIGINAL HERITAGE

The Aboriginals were the first known inhabitants to set foot on our soil. Several Aboriginal communities are still established here. Through these communities and the many archeological digs conducted throughout the years, you can come into contact with a culture and way of life that inspire respect.
