Sea Fun

Active and contemplative adventurers can now explore Québec maritime from the sea. This is a great opportunity to encounter exceptional scenery and a wealth of unique flora and fauna that can only add to your holiday memories.

SEA EXCURSIONS

Participate in a sea excursion and discover the rich biodiversity of the St. Lawrence including its whales and seals. Explore caves, islands or the majestic Saguenay Fjord. Any excuse to get out to sea is a good one! The ways to do so are also numerous: you can dive in wearing a wetsuit, paddle out in a kayak or enjoy a ride in a Zodiac or bigger boat.

SEA KAYAKING

In Québec maritime, you can sea kayak almost anywhere on the St. Lawrence along both shores as well as along the coasts of the Îles de la Madeleine and Anticosti Island. You can rent equipment in many places, as well as go on sea kayaking excursions with or without a guide. If you have never been sea kayaking before, this is your opportunity to try out this calm and environmentally conscious sport.

SCUBA DIVING

The rich diversity and colours of the St. Lawrence seabed will surprise you. Several scuba diving sites await you in Côte-Nord, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie. Experienced divers will also want to explore our shipwrecks such as the Empress of Ireland, which sank off Pointe-au-Père (Rimouski) in 1914.

CRUISES

In addition to the various international cruise lines that make stops in Québec maritime, two boats regularly cruise the waters of the St. Lawrence. One will take you to the Îles de la Madeleine, while the other gives you the opportunity to discover the Middle and Lower North Shore regions via Anticosti Island.
