BY CAR, MOTORCYCLE OR RV
The road network in Québec maritime is both simple to navigate and efficient.

North shore

Route 138, the Whale Route, runs along the north shore of the St. Lawrence from Tadoussac all the way to Natashquan. Route 172 runs parallel to the Saguenay Fjord from Tadoussac to the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, while Route 389 takes you north from Baie-Comeau to Labrador, via the Manic-2 and Manic-5 dams.

South shore

On the south shore, Highway 20 runs parallel to Route 132 along the St. Lawrence through the Bas-Saint-Laurent region to Cacouna. Route 132 continues on into Gaspésie and loops around the peninsula. (This is the Gaspésie Tour.) A vast network of secondary roads leads into the interior of Bas-Saint-Laurent to enchanting sites:
  • Route 289 goes from Saint-Alexandre-de-Kamouraska to Pohénégamook and New Brunswick
  • Route 185 links Rivière-du-Loup to New Brunswick via the Témiscouata region
  • Route 299 crosses the Gaspé Peninsula from Sainte-Anne-des-Monts to New Richmond, via Gaspésie National Park
  • Route 198 takes you from L’Anse-Pleureuse to Gaspé via Murdochville

All these roads offer panoramic views, and most pass through villages where you will find all the services you require, regardless of the type of vehicle you are driving.
BY BOAT
It is obviously possible to travel around Québec maritime by boat.

Ferries

Four ferries link the two shores of the St. Lawrence:
Ferry schedules vary seasonally. Some accept reservations. Visit their websites for more information.

To get from Baie-Sainte-Catherine to Tadoussac on Route 138, you will need to take a short ferry across the Saguenay Fjord. Departures are every 10 minutes.
