The Motorcycle Tourist Circuits of Gaspésie
The Gaspé Peninsula is a popular tourist destination renowned for its stunning coastal scenery.
Enjoy riding the
meandering road from Newport to Chandler—along the way are many
outdoor recreation options. In the Grande-Rivière sector, be sure to admire the fish flakes (slatted platforms used for drying fish) where cod is left to dry in the sun.
Arriving in Percé via
Surprise Hill (Côte Surprise), you can soak up the breathtaking view of legendary
Percé Rock and
Bonaventure Island. Take the time to browse through the many gift shops and art galleries in Percé. The twisty road that leads out of the village will take you through spectacular scenery.
In Pointe-Saint-Pierre, admire Indian Head Rock and the Pointe de Forillon. On the way to Gaspé, which bustles with
festivities year-round, you will pass by several beautiful
beaches, such as the one in Haldimand, a favourite of swimmers, surfers and kayakers.
Forillon National Park of Canada features sea and mountain scenery, a
scenic road and many species of wildlife. Be sure to visit the
Cap-des-Rosiers Lighthouse, Canada’s tallest lighthouse.
The last leg of this scenic drive provides the greatest
adrenaline rush: tight, twisting curves and great dips await you. Your trip ends at the Cap Madeleine Lighthouse, where you can observe the
whales.
