Québec maritime boasts nine national parks. Each of these parks protects and showcases important elements of our natural and cultural heritage, and each represents a different way of experiencing Québec maritime's nature, culture and history. These parks are gateways to an immense territory worth discovering!

WORTH DISCOVERING

The national parks of Québec maritime can be explored through a variety of exciting interpretation activities and interpretation sites, as well as through hiking, cycling, sea kayaking, sea excursions, etc. Moreover, most parks offer accommodations in the form of campgrounds, cottages, huts or inns.

Located in both mountain and seascapes, all our national parks offer services and facilities that are recognized for their quality, which ensures that your visit will be a pleasant one.

NATURAL HERITAGE

Our national parks protect a wide variety of fascinating species such as:

  • the largest and most accessible northern gannet colony in the world
  • the only caribou herd south of the St. Lawrence
  • the blue whale, which is the largest mammal on the planet
  • the only herd of belugas south of the Arctic and subarctic regions
  • five of the six fossil fish groups in existence 380 million years ago on a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • a herd of 130,000 white-tailed deer on a single island
  • green-scaled simple goldenrod (also known as Mt. Albert goldenrod), a plant species found nowhere else in the worl
  • the famous Atlantic puffin, also known as the sea parrot
