Where to Cycle in Québec maritime

Québec maritime is home to a wide selection of bike trails of all kinds that will allow you to cycle through our regions at your own pace. Bring your own bike or rent one once you are here.

Route Verte cycling trail

The Route Verte cycling trail is a network of bikeways crisscrossing the regions of Québec, including:
In Bas-Saint-Laurent, the Petit Témis Interprovincial Linear Park is a 134-kilometre cycling trail that runs along a former railway track. The north section of the park goes from Rivière-du-Loup to Cabano, while the south section links Cabano to Edmunston, New Brunswick.

National parks

The national parks of Québec and Canada offer hundreds of kilometres of bike trails. You can ride them at your own pace to explore the beauty of our regions. Bic National Park, the Chic-Chocs Mountain Lodge and Forillon National Park of Canada also offer bike rentals.

Other cycling trails

In addition to the Route Verte cycling trails and the trails in national parks, local and municipal bike trails will encourage you to spend more time exploring the towns and villages of Québec maritime and their surroundings. Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspésie and the Îles de la Madeleine all offer trails that will take you to enchanting sites.

    Cycle the secondary roads of Forillon National Park of Canada and discover its awe-inspiring landscapes. You will treasure every minute of your trip. Bicycle rentals are available from the park's Recreation Centre.
  • Jardin des Glaciers (Garden of the Glaciers)

    Several mountain bike trails are offered in an enchanting setting bordering on glacial lakes, peat bogs and marshland. The trails vary in difficulty from easy to very hard, and range in length from 1.5 km (1 mi.) to 5.2 km (3 mi.).

Gaspé: Think Big!

Located right in the middle of Gaspé, the marina, Jacques-Cartier yacht club and Le Cormoran sailing school make Gaspé Bay a favourite among sailing enthusiasts.

In the summer, sand and pebble beaches attract many visitors to the area’s 130 kilometres (80 miles) of coastline. In August, magnificent Haldimand Beach (pictured here) hosts an Ultimate Frisbee tournament.
