No snowmobilers can call themselves true adventurers until they have experienced the Gaspésie trails.

Why? Because this immense geographically isolated territory proffers every kind of challenge, from its weather to its terrain to its magnificent winter landscapes. And it delivers nothing in half measures. First there's the snow: lots and lots of snow. Then there are the vast spaces enough to make you dizzy. Not to mention the gigantic mountains the highest in Québec—the kind you pit yourself against to see if you measure up. All of this is bordered by the sea and hundreds of kilometres to cover every day. And the population is peppered with amazing characters unafraid of winters people who embody much of the region's charm.

The 2000 kilometres (1200 miles) of trails on the Gaspé Peninsula are easily accessed simply by following the coast and turning inland. Or you can head directly for adventure through the mountains of the interior via the valley between Mont-Joli and Restigouche, and then skirt the mighty Chic-Chocs between Cap-Chat and New Richmond. The great star of the region, though, is unarguably famous Percé Rock, looking even more extraordinary imprisoned in ice. You can also travel from Percé to Murdochville, then on to the spectacular regions of Mont-Saint-Pierre and Tourelle.
