Isolated from the rest of the archipelago, Entry Island is known as the pearl at the heart of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Located in the middle of this tiny pastoral island, the new Entry Island Museum houses a collection gathered through the generosity of the island’s residents and is dedicated to interpreting and preserving the rich history of this community.

The permanent collection offers a unique glimpse into the history of the island and includes farming and fishing equipment, veterans’ memorabilia, photos, household items and stories collected through oral history. The museum offers guided tours in English and French that will provide insight into local lore, built heritage and community knowledge that dates back over 200 years—English speakers first settled the island in the early 1820s—and even earlier, to the seasonal occupation of the island by Mi’gmaq hunters.
