This series of thematic gastronomic evenings showcases regional producers and artisans in local restaurants.
Each participating restaurant will feature a chef and a special menu inspired by the collaboration between a member of the Bon goût frais des Îles de la Madeleine with an arts and crafts artisan. For instance, the Bistro du Bout du monde is working with Annie Morin, who is a blacksmith, and tender island beef to offer up a delicious feast under the theme of “Iron and Bones.” During the dinner, iron, flesh and fire will combine to create a spectacular evening.
The event will be launched at the Flavours from the Sea Festival on June 19, when chefs from the Wild Gourmet Spree will take part in a round of culinary improv. Panel members and a host will be on site so that you may see and taste the results of each team’s creative juices.
In anticipation of the 2012 edition of the Wild Gourmet Spree, you can enter an online contest, which is open until July 10, 2011. The prize includes a cruise aboard the N.M. CTMA Vacancier, lodging at Domaine du Vieux Couvent, a rental car from Hertz and a gastronomic passport for three thematic dinners during the second edition of the Wild Gourmet Spree in the summer of 2012.
