The Bas-Saint-Laurent is also a land of vast forests and huge lakes. The Parc linéaire Monk and the
Sentier du Petit Témis, laid out on a one-time railway track, go from one end of the region to the other, following the shores of immense Lake Témiscouata and mysterious
Lake Pohénégamook. White-tailed deer can be found each evening by Lake Pohénégamook or its resort, where they can be easily observed.
Several suggested tours let snowmobilers explore the farthest reaches of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and even go into town centres such as
Rimouski and
Rivière-du-Loup. Here you will find warm and welcoming snowmobile stations.
