The Bas-Saint-Laurent coast by snowmobile is one long lookout perched on the Appalachian Highlands offering a series of magnificent views of the river and its islands, all the way from Kamouraska, along the flats of Rivière-du-Loup to the heights of Le Bic. Each local trail leading to a coastal village reveals another spectacular seascape.

Rivière-du-Loup is an amazing gateway for snowmobilers from the Atlantic provinces, the United States and from regions to the west such as Ontario. The quality of the trails is exemplary, providing easy access to downtown, where fabulous tours await you.

It is the only region where you can cross to an island in the St. Lawrence over an ice bridge. On Île Verte, you can even see the oldest lighthouse on the St. Lawrence. And every evening, the sun sets below Bas-Saint-Laurent, delighting snowmobilers returning from their excursions with the most extraordinary show.

The Bas-Saint-Laurent is also a land of vast forests and huge lakes. The Parc linéaire Monk and the Sentier du Petit Témis, laid out on a one-time railway track, go from one end of the region to the other, following the shores of immense Lake Témiscouata and mysterious Lake Pohénégamook. White-tailed deer can be found each evening by Lake Pohénégamook or its resort, where they can be easily observed.

Several suggested tours let snowmobilers explore the farthest reaches of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and even go into town centres such as Rimouski and Rivière-du-Loup. Here you will find warm and welcoming snowmobile stations.

Trails in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region also provide a direct route to the Gaspésie, Maine or New Brunswick.
