Mont-Saint-Pierre offers you many little-known attractions in an enchanting mountain area by the sea!

The village square

To help you plan your stay and book your activities, the Discovery Space (Espace découverte) will guide you with its interactive model of the site and activity ambassadors on giant screens. People from near and far gather to chat in the village square or cool off on the patio. Discover the history of Mont-Saint-Pierre on interpretive panels and explore an old fishing building.

The bell tower room

Walk into the church, now known as the bell tower room and discover free flight during an immersive experience. Take to the skies during a bird’s-eye-view journey that captures the beauty of this incredible sport!

The observatory

Another immersive experience awaits you at the top of Mt. Saint-Pierre. Enter the observatory and experience the sensation of boarding a machine that will take you through the geological history of this glacial valley on land and underwater. After this unique journey, head to the bridge along the cliff for a unique encounter with the elements. You can also follow an interpretive trail that will reveal the secrets of the intriguing flying rocks and much more!

The beach

Back in the village, head for the beach to relax in the hammocks as you listen to the lapping waves, or play games on the sand (pétanque, chess or tic-tac-toe). You can also try skipping stones on the surface of the water! Need a break from the sun? A shaded platform at the edge of the beach will offer some respite. Beach time in Mont-Saint-Pierre is also an opportunity to go fishing, a free activity that is sure to please visitors of all ages. Come and meet the locals as you cast your line!

Outdoor activities

Take advantage of our natural amphitheatre to stretch your legs on one of our hiking trails: the Delta or the Lynx. You can also explore the area by mountain bike or go kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).

A shuttle service is available to take you to the top of Mt. Saint-Pierre. You can also take the shuttle to the Mont-Jacques-Cartier sector of Parc national de la Gaspésie (via Route 2), which is only 27 km (17 mi.) from Mont-Saint-Pierre. From the top of Mt. Jacques-Cartier, you can admire vast expanses of alpine tundra—and, if you are lucky, you may even spot a caribou!

Lodging

Extend your visit to the area by staying in one of the many lodging establishments in Mont-Saint-Pierre, which are either facing the sea or in the valley, less than 2 km (1 mi.) from this site. Wherever you are, you will be surrounded by mountains and enchanted by the beauty of the St. Lawrence Estuary. Everything is so close by that you can park your car and walk everywhere while you are here.

By car

Departing anywhere between Montréal and Rimouski: Follow Highway 20 East to the Mont-Joli roundabout, then head towards Sainte-Flavie or Grand-Métis on Route 132 East.

Departing from Côte-Nord: Take a ferry to the south shore. Depending on where you land (Rivière-du-Loup, Trois-Pistoles or Matane), take Highway 20 East or Route 132 East.

By bus

You can take an Orléans Express bus to the nearby village of Mont-Louis (which is 7 km, or about 4 mi., east of Mont-Saint-Pierre).
