Since 1997, Nature Adventure has offered guided and self-guided outdoor activities on several rivers in the Matapédia–Les Plateaux area in Gaspésie as well as in northern New Brunswick.

World-renowned salmon rivers such as the Restigouche and the Matapédia are perfect for whitewater activities such as canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). Since 2011, the company has also offered a snorkelling activity to observe Atlantic salmon.

  • Guided canoeing and kayaking packages (2 hours to 5 days): equipment, guide services, meal(s) (depending on the package) and snacks included
    • Escapade: 2 hours on the Matapédia or Restigouche River
    • Tide Head: 4 hours on the Restigouche River
    • Sunburn: 6 to 8 hours on the Matapédia or Restigouche River
    • Moonlight: 2 days (1 night) on the Patapédia River
    • Drifter: 3 days (2 nights) on the Patapédia or Restigouche River
    • Extension: 4 days (3 nights) on the Patapédia, Restigouche, Upsalquitch and/or Kedgwick rivers
    • Nomad: 5 days (4 nights) on the Restigouche, Patapédia, Upsalquitch and/or Kedgwick rivers
  • Guided stand-up paddle boarding packages (2 to 8 hours): equipment, guide services, meal (depending on the package) and snacks included
    • Escapade: 2 hours on the Matapédia or Restigouche River
    • Tide Head: 4 hours on the Restigouche River
    • Sunburn: 6 to 8 hours on the Matapédia or Restigouche River
  • Guided snorkelling with Atlantic salmon (8 hours): equipment, guide services, meal and snacks included
    • Mouth-Watering activity: 8 hours on the Assemetquagan, Matapédia and Moulin rivers

Nature Aventure also offers hiking packages (guided, self-guided or semi-guided with luggage transportation and meal preparation) on the International Appalachian Trail (IAT). The IAT crosses the region of Gaspésie and was officially recognized as the first long-distance hiking route (GR) in North America in 2015.

  • Guided hiking packages (from 7 to 70 km / 4 to 43 mi., up to 5 days): accommodations in shelters, guide services, meal(s) (depending on the package) and snacks included
    • Stroll: 7 to 8 km / 4 or 5 mi. in the Matapédia area
    • Pico Falls: 15 km / 9 mi. from Saint-André-de-Restigouche to Matapédia
    • Sunset: 16 km / 10 mi. (1 night) in the Saint-André-de-Restigouche area; overnight in the Corbeau shelter
    • Discovery: 33 km / 21 mi. (2 nights) from Saint-André-de-Restigouche to Matapédia; overnights in the Corbeau and Turcotte shelters
    • Explorer: 54 km / 34 mi. (3 nights) from Sainte-Marguerite to Saint-André-de-Restigouche; overnights in the Ruisseau Creux, Quartz and Corbeau shelters
    • Expedition: 69 km / 43 mi. (4 nights) from Sainte-Marguerite to Matapédia; overnights in the Ruisseau Creux, Quartz, Corbeau and Turcotte shelters

Are you looking for somewhere to camp in Matapédia? Nature Aventure manages the Parc Adams campground, which offers camping and glamping options. The campground is located at the heart of the village of Matapédia, near many services and amenities.

Hiking
Various hiking packages are available for all tastes on the International Appalachian Trail… lasting from a few hours to 5 days!
Lake and River Excursions
Guided canoeing and kayaking excursions will introduce you to the pleasures of paddling on a river. Canoe camping also available. You can also explore the rivers of the Matapédia Valley on a stand-up paddleboard (10 to 24 km / 6 to 15 mi. excursions).
Scuba Diving and Snorkelling
Go snorkelling with or without a guide to observe the king of our rivers: Atlantic salmon. Swim in the current and pools of three rivers wearing a neoprene bodysuit.
