Serge Boulanger and Marie-Josée Dugas

La Ruelle, Gaspésie

Serge and Marie-Josée upcycle materials. In 2013, they opened a workshop and boutique in a century-old home overlooking Chaleur Bay; more recently, in 2018, they turned a stable and part of their house into three tourist apartments. The decor, both chic and rustic, showcases upcycled materials and the works of local artists and artisans. A fur artisan for over 40 years, Serge draws inspiration from salvaged materials to create items of clothing and accessories. He can be seen at work in his workshop and boutique, where he shares his passion by introducing visitors to the history of fur in Québec and the various steps involved in creating an article made with fur.
